Personal History
Dr. Daniel R. Burczak is a highly skilled cardiologist with a career dedicated to advancing cardiovascular health and patient care. A native of Illinois, he attended Florida State University for his undergraduate studies, graduating magna cum laude in Biochemistry.
He obtained his Doctorate of Medicine from Rush University Medical College, where he graduated in the top quartile and was awarded the Peter G. Economou MD Memorial Award for extraordinary patient care. Following medical school, he completed both his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. There, he solidified his commitment to excellence in cardiovascular medicine and published cutting-edge research on subjects including echocardiography, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and atrial fibrillation.
His innovative research, reputation as an esteemed educator, and quality clinical care led to his promotion to Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic’s Department of Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Burczak has advanced training in multimodality imaging and has achieved the highest level of training in echocardiography, including the practice of transesophageal echocardiograms.
